Originally known as the Brown Stockings or the Perfectos, the St. Louis Cardinals' long illustrious franchise history began in 1892 with their induction into the National League. The team was finally dubbed the "Cardinals" because of the color of their uniforms but is now also associated with the bird of the same name. The St. Louis Cardinals currently play at the recently built Busch Stadium III, where they have played only since 2006. The Cardinals have been extremely lucky in the amount of talent on their roster over the years, which includes over 30 Hall-of-Famers such as pitcher Bruce Sutter and short stop, slugger Ozzie Smith. The St. Louis Cardinals incredible franchise performances have led them to ten World Series Championships in seventeen World Series appearances, nine LCS appearances, seventeen National League pennants, and ten division titles.
The St. Louis Cardinals have gotten off to a great start this season, currently holding a solid 42-29 winning record, which puts them in 2nd place in the National League Central division behind the Chicago Cubs. The Cardinals have a great line-up this year with Troy Glaus leading this talented roster. Glaus is a 4-time All-Star, World Series MVP, and 2-time Silver Slugger Award winner. The St. Louis Cardinals have had a great start on and off the field, particularly in ticket sales. As the season gets closer to ending and the playoffs begin, Cardinals tickets will be almost impossible to find. Excited fans hope for their St. Louis Cardinals to bring the World Series Championship back home where it belongs.
